HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The documentary-based live theatre production 学校游戏, which explores public perception about Pennsylvania’s school funding crisis using the voices of Pennsylvanians, is going on tour in schools and theaters across the state, including: 伊利, St. Marys, Johnstown, State College, Schuylkill Haven, 哈里斯堡, Lancaster, Reading, 阿伦敦, 埃尔金斯公园, Blue Bell 和 Bryn Mawr.
The timing of 学校游戏 could not be more relevant as the three-month-old budget standoff continues in 哈里斯堡, with new funding for education at the top of the agenda. The production, from playwrights Arden Kass 和 Seth Bauer and commissioned by Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), uses the real voices of more than 100 Pennsylvanians to dramatize funding inequities among school districts across the state.
“School Play belongs to everyone. You do not need sets, costumes or lighting to tell the critical story of the state of our schools and a child’s desire to have basic resources to help them succeed,” said 唐娜·库珀, executive director of PCCY. “We want people in communities across the state to pick up a script and hold their own School Plays so that more Pennsylvanians are aware of how funding cuts hurt our children.”
学校游戏 received overwhelmingly positive reviews at sold-out performances last April at the National Constitution Center in 费城.
Tickets are free and will be available at the door for each performance.
