Give Kids Sight DayGive Kids Sight Day. Get free eye exams and glasses for children Saturday, April 12, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Wills Eye Hospital Hamilton Building, 1001Locust St. on the Thomas Jefferson University campus.No appointments necessary – just walk in. People will be helped on a first come,first served basis.No health insurance? No problem! Children must come with a parent or guardianand each child who participates will receive 2 free SEPTA tokens! Depending on where you live, you may be able to save money byswitching your electric supplier.Pennsylvanians can choose the company that generates their electricity, whichmeans you have the power to switch to a competing supplier who offers the lowestprice or provides a specific service you want, such as green/renewable energy.Find more information.

Learn about the Standard Offer ProgramLIHEAP Extended Through April 18th LIHEAP. April 18 is fast approaching! It is the last day to apply for federalLIHEAP program assistance to help ypu pay your utility bills.So far this season, more than $8 million in LIHEAP assistance has helped about25,000 PECO electric and natural gas customers pay their bills.

Last year,LIHEAP provided PECO customers with more than 63,000 grants to nearly 44,000customers for more than $14.5 million.If you qualify, you could receive a cash grant of up to $1,000. The money wouldbe paid directly to a vendor, such as a utility like PECO. The maximum crisisgrant this year is $500 per customer.Household income cannot exceed 150 percent of the federal poverty incomeguidelines, or $17,235 for one person, $23,265 for a two-person household,$29,295 for three, and $35,325 for four. With larger households, add $6,030 foreach additional person.LIHEAP applications are available at county assistance offices, local utilitycompanies and community service agencies, such as Area Agencies on Aging orcommunity action agencies.You may call the LIHEAP hotline at 1-866-857-7095, Monday through Friday, forhelp. Individuals with hearing impairments may call the TDD number at 1-800-451-5886.
