Important Meeting On School District’s Budget Tonight – Weekly Press – July 22, 2014

Philadelphia School District Officials to Team with Parents and Advocates to Push for Cigarette Tax PHILADELPHIA (July 22nd, 2014) – Philadelphia School District officials will meet with parents and school advocates to provide a budget update and explain what steps the district will take if the state fails to pass the cigarette tax for city schools. CFO Matthew Stanski will present scenarios of actions the district will take if the cigarette tax is approved or rejected by the state legislature.

Education advocates from PCCY, the Philadelphia Education Fund and Education Voters of Pennsylvania will also lead a discussion on actions parents can take including a trip to Harrisburg in early August. Members of the media are invited to attend the event.
